I started a post about possible reasons but decided we don't know enough to say. As likely seems that they simply could have nerfed the other trims so as to save pitch for the off roadies, and as you say Terrain Mode likely has its own calibrations. As we saw in with the specs, that they are best case Extended Pack, this might just mean that turning radius is best case Terrain Mode

Pulling boats up launch ramps, towing offroad, even with 4WD we feel how much more the rear locker kicks in and helps.
Sometime all the difference.

Writing a $100.000 OTD check for the AT4 EV that doesn't have it,, is causing us to pause and re-think this.

An ongoing frustration I have with GM is that the AT4/TB, 2 1/2 years after Nichole Kraatz mentioned lockers in a TFL interview, still don't have them. We will have to wait for AT4X/SR2 versions??? I don't understand from a sales/marketing perspective why the slow rollout of trim/packages that are successful on the ICE side. To my knowledge, the SEV/Hummer production line is nowhere near maxed out. Any insight on that Nebula?

I waited 2 years to buy so I could get 4 wheel steering without the dumb 24" wheels and heavy/hot glass roof. I might have bought an SR2 two years ago. I wanted lockers and ASV or DSSV shocks and would have waited longer but don't know if we will ever see them.

The glass roof and the noisy mid gate not being deletable options hang heavy on our decision too.
Everything else about the AT4 is most desirable.
If you get the ER no glass roof and yes on tax credit (until 9/30). Unfortunately it comes with the midgate. Midgate is innovative but has more of a place on the WT version IMHO. I'd rather have the traditional fold rear seats (for the pup) and more tonneau cover options.

With the Trail Boss, you can avoid the midgate and glass roof but have to give up the Premium Pkg and just get the Plus Pkg.
