So why do you want to buy/own an BEV?

My reasons:
  • Environmentally responsible at the local and global levels.
  • Not spewing noxious ICE exhaust at the folks driving behind me.
  • Not putting gas money in the war chest of those intent on destroying us.
  • Performance.
  • Charge at home.
  • One pedal driving
  • No gas, oil, transmission fluid, spark plugs, break jobs, timing chains/belts or antifreeze to deal with.
  • Less scheduled maintenance.
  • Stop breathing gas fumes when filling up.
  • Bucking the system!

Exactly my point, buy one 3 ton giant NMC pack truck and if you aren’t happy with it buy a 5 ton even larger NMC pack truck, give it a feel good wrapper, rinse and repeat. All the while with little jabs at those who can’t afford to live such a wasteful hypocritical lifestyle. 😂 While pretending that switching from one set of large corporations, government and utility’s, to another is some sort of rebellious sticking it to the man act. When All the worlds richest, elites and environmentally destructive forces believe what you do, you aren’t a revolutionary. 😂

do you have sometime to hear the good news? 😂

Now if he was Bragging about his Aptera or E-bike without putting everyone else with a different opinion down maybe…

You guys are really giving this forum a bad look. There are a lot of people coming to this site to learn about the Silverado/Sierra EV but the top two posters are just endlessly snarking each other and bickering over who is "right".

I hope you guys realize GM needs people with both of your general attitudes to buy their BEVs. This means if you want your EV Silverado at an attractive price point and nationwide service... you should respect your differences. Everyone has a different set of buying motives... Retirees, head of household, tech bro, or fleet manager. But GM needs them all to buy their trucks.

GM needs "green" idealists who will pay a hefty up front premium for a BEV truck because they're obtaining something that is more than just a means of conveyance. GM needs "economic" idealists who will hit their BEV truck purchase with an ROI in mind. It's the only way to get the volume up and economies of scale to run their normal business model. I don't understand why you two need to endlessly posture about who has the better/righteous motive for buying an BEV truck.

None of us are getting a BEV truck period if the technology and benefit is gatekept away from certain buyers due to their motive for wanting that vehicle is "wrong".

I have many reasons. My top reason is that I don't want to do another smog check. I have the worst luck with it. Partly my fault. I always wait to the last moment to go for a smog check. For some unlucky reason, my battery dies and when I swap it out, the cars wont pass EVAP Readiness. Then I have to go drive it around for a million miles and do ungodly things to satisfy the criteria before I can finally go pass the smog check. I know, silly, but such a pain. Living the crazy life. :D

But yah, all that saving money, less maintenance, quite ride, green living, etc are all up there.

I forgot to mention no more emissions tests! 😊

Each time I pass a gas station, lube shop, muffler shop ect.. or an emissions testing booth I smile.

I think a lot of folks who have switched to EV come to realize the many inconveniences and downsides to ICE that we have unconsciously accepted.
