Congrats on your reservation
@II Kings 9:20 welcome to the forum! What stands out to you the most about the Silverado over the Cybertruck or Silverado?
Aside from the 118 people that have signed up on here it's hard to say what the full number of reservations are until Chevy releases them.
Thanks so much. Standouts include:
1. 400 miles of range vs 230 for Lightning. In order to upgrade to 300 miles on the lightning, one needs to spend an additional $14,000 just to move up to the XLT And then spend an additional $10,000 for the upgraded battery. Individual buyers of the entry-level $40,000 pro model are not allowed to purchase the larger battery. Only fleet buyers are able to do that on the entry-level model.
2. The cyber truck claimed to be priced at just under $40,000 and that information removed from their website and there is zero chance of this vehicle coming in at that price or anywhere close to it.
3. The Silverado, in addition to being faster, has better range, is priced the same as the F150 lightning, and it looks better. It is distinctive and does not look like the typical Silverado. The F150, with the exception of the light bar across the front, looks like every other F150 which is not a terrible thing, but it’s not distinctive. And by the way, that delightful, wonderful light bar that runs across the hood is not available on the entry-level pro model which is the one I’m interested in. Of course the aftermarket will probably step in and provide one.
4. Silverado has the brilliant mid gate (apparently available only on the high-end model so it is a moot point for me“ since I’m looking at the one that cost $40,000).
I really need to get the most bang for my buck on an entry-level model since I have a Rivian R1 S reservation in an order that soon. There’s only so much money to go around and fortunately, at least for Rivian, I’ll be eligible for the federal tax credit. That won’t be available for Ford or Chevrolet or Tesla.
If tesla hits the market by summer 2024, with a model in the mid 40s without needing $15k in options to be decently equipped, I’ve not ruled it out. I reserve my Tesla spot very late so even if it is at market they’re gonna have to run through several hundred thousand orders and is a good chance for me it would be something like 2026. Same as true for the F1 50 lightning perhaps 2024 or 25.
I’m 99% certain I’m going to get the Silverado.
