Current "truck" is a 2006 Suburban 2500 with the 8.1. This will be sold in the spring. An EV truck will replace this and our 2018 VW Atlas. The plan is to get the truck first then maybe a year or so later replace our Volt with a 3 row SUV for my wife.

Great group of cars @camaroz1985! That Suburban is as absolute beast. How has the Volt treated you? I've heard good things about them.

Thank you! It has a 6” rough country lift, 20” fuel rims, 35” tires… didn’t have to do much else. I do love it… I don’t love 12mpg though lol. Price you pay.

Well. It’s either a Hummer EV, Silverado EV or Sierra EV down the road. It’s time to change. I think all three are going to be great options (albeit pricey)… gives me time to get this by my wife.

Traded this '15 Sierra for that SUV. The Audi isn't bad, but I miss having a truck. Guess I have a few years to wait until my reservation pays off though.

Volt has been great. We have almost 120k miles on it now. Only had two issues, one was ironically with the ICE (throttle position sensor replaced under warranty), and a "Service High Voltage System" fault which was solved by reprogramming two modules. Bought a programmer, and a subscription to ACDelco programming service and did it myself for about $140. I think we have driven approx. 80% of the time on battery power, and that is increasing now that we don't use it for as many trips, and I can charge at work, so my daily commute is fully on electric (60 mile round trip, I was using gas for the last half of my trip home). Have seen a decrease in usable battery capacity over the last year. Was getting 10.9 kwh used almost every time, now, it is between 9.9 and 10.1. Going to keep it until we switch both of our vehicles to EV.

I never cared much about Buick till they came out with that Regal.

Have you shown her the Silverado and Hummer to see what she thinks? I lucked out big having a wife who's excited about switch to an EV as I am.

How easy was it to do the reprogramming on those modules?

Very simple, subscribe to ACDelco service (I think it was $40 for 2 years with one VIN), plug into OBDII, read modules, click on the one you want to reprogram and it checks for updated software and installs it along with any other needed updates to other modules. The details were outlined on a Volt forum, so I was just following along, but gave me confidence to be able to check other modules if any other issues came up.

I was looking forward to seeing this red truck they teased last year but it looks like the front end design changed slightly. The bowtie was centered on the LED bar but they moved it down on the final design.

I guess Chevy wanted to make the bowtie a little more prominent and not blend into the light bar.

I don't have any pics of my cars, but my wife and I both drive Bolts. The Shock one is mine. I'll drive the Silverado when we get it and my bolt will probably go to our son. We'll give the red one to our daughter and replace it with a midsize electric suv with awd in a couple years.

We’ve had the red one for 3 years and the yellow one for 2. We had a 2011 Outback to handle road trip duty, but moved it along a year ago…so we’re completely electric now. We really like the Bolts, they’re great for commuting and daily driving, and handle a 200mi road trip pretty well. The seats are a little hard and narrow, but it sound like that’s been addressed in the newer models.

Absolutely. My wife has a reservation on the Hummer SUV, she is ready to go electric. We could do it, but having two $100K vehicles is a lot… reason I thought the Silverado or Sierra might be more affordable options for me. We’ll see.
