The only way to win with years-long waits is to have deposits on multiple vehicles. I know many of you reading this are already on it and wonder what those other vehicles are.

I'm already ripping my hair out waiting for the Silverado EV. I'd completely lose it if I had to actively wait for another car. The wife and I are probably going to have a day of fun and do some dealer hopping. Quite honestly, I may come home with an Ionic or ID.4? My brother, who's in the dealership business in the L.A. area, is saying that because of the economic downturn, they are seeing a lot more cancellations after the reserved cars are making it to the dealers. In addition, they are having a lot harder time making market adjustments. A lot of these cars are going for MSRP. This may be region specific. Hope my response didn't hijack your thread. :D

Lightning. Probably not going to take it. If Ford offered the Pro Extended Range to the public I would take another look, but that's the the only trim + battery combo I am in interested in.

Silverado. Need details. Very concerned about price vs feature ratio, long wheelbase/turning radius, moderate ground clearance. If it ends up being the only model with the midgate, that would push it up the list a bit.

Cybertruck (x2 by accident), probably the one I'll end up with depending on final price vs features ratio.

Skipped the Ram.

Would absolutely love a Rivian R1S if I had faith they will still exist in 3 years.

Had a Lightning reservation (2nd date) but cancelled due to poor range. Have a Rivian R1T max reservation, will be changing to the 2WD max battery once they enable that. Have a Cybertruck reservation made the first night right after they opened it, and its supposedly in the first 600. Will believe it when I get a confirmation. And a Silverado.

Which one will I go with? Two many unanswered questions yet but hopefully a year from now I'll be driving some company's EV pickup -- or maybe I'll have three in my driveway trying to flip two after making my decision!

Hummer EV 3X , expected late 2024 supposedly, Silverado EV RST - no idea if I would get it before the Hummer, and Cybertruck - about 500,000 on the list of about 1,500,000 orders and not expecting it to be first. But yeah I’ll buy whichever comes first and cancel the other orders since any of them would satisfy my electric truck needs

One can only hope that Chevy will have Silverado on the fast track. I don't know how GM works when it comes to managing the assembly line. Do they allow the individual divisions prioritize their own assembly lines or are the assembly lines managed by the mothership GM? My only hope and grace is that Chevy, of all the GM companies, are the only ones to successfully mass produce EVs and maybe even hybrids. This experience should keep them moving through the builds at a fast pace. Someone correct me if I'm wrong there. Yah, that's my wing and prayer.

I'll tell you for sure, they can't be like GMC and Cadillac with ridiculously low production numbers. People will jump ship.

I agree, I put in early deposits for several vehicles with the plan to get the other deposits back once I finally get the one I want (or possibly flip them). Did 2 CyberTruck reservations the first day it was offered. Did a Ford Lightning reservation the first day and recently got the email to configure / buy it but declined due to range and price increases (although dealer pledged zero markup). Reserved Silverado the first hour it was offered, am hopeful but concerned about price/range ratio and possible dealer markup. Reserved Chevy Blazer the first minute it was offered and really like the style but TBD on price/range/markup. Reserved Ram (currently have an ICE Ram 4WD that I have taken all over Alaska and Canada, super reliable and comfortable).

Reserved a CyberLandr auto-expandable camper top for CyberTruck too. All deposits are fully refundable.

Started thinking about holding off a few years on EV purchase til the batteries improve, and just buying a Ford Maverick in the meantime since it’s so cheap starting at $20k but a long wait list.

Other than the Silverado EV we dhd a deposit on a Rav4 Prime, but got tired of waiting and got a Camry Hybrid that was unaccounted for.
Thinking about a deposit on a Ram 1500 REV, but not sure what their plan is for here in Canada.

Also liking the Kia EV9.....Again waiting for more details/reservations to open.

I had a Rivian R1S, Rivian R1T Max Pack, Aptera, and Chevy Silverado reservation.

I've cancelled the R1S, R1T, and Aptera. The R1T Max went from a great product to nothing over the course of my reservation.

The more I see of the Silverado EV, the more I want to just give up. They're going for Hummer price range and have provided zero details and supposedly we're shipping in six months? there should be an entire marketing push starting not to get into the fall buying cycle, yet at best we got two pictures of something charging, and a couple walk around videos with no internals/no driving experience.

I'm holding on, because after all this time waiting for a 'good gas mileage' truck the dang thing is almost here but $125k RST only better not be what it is.

CBT, REV, and Silverado EV. Leaning toward REV because of range and looks ( personal preference). But there are still way too many unknowns about availability, prices and specs to even think about making an informed decision about any of them at this point. I have owned two 2014 Volts and a 2018 Model 3. I currently own a 2022 Ioniq 5. It is amazing how far EV technology and range has progressed. I just finished a 1,400 mile interstate road trip in the Ioniq 5 that I was a little nervous about taking because it was my first without access to the Tesla charging network. Happy to say that Electrify America chargers were well positioned and always available along our route. Other charging options were readily available as well, but used Electrify America because Hyundai pays for the first 30 minutes of every Electrify America public charge for the Ioniq 5 for its first two years. BTW, I purchased the Ioniq 5 prior to August 15, 2022 and just submitted my 2022 tax return receiving the full (old) $7,500 tax credit.

Have or had - R1T Max Pack, Silverado EV, Vinfast VF9, and Volvo EX90.

Cancelled Vinfast in April 2022. Was told the only way I would be able to get a vehicle was to go to CA to pick it up, and there wouldn't be any service centers near me in PA. I also had no confidence in the company as a whole, and based on the VF8 I feel that was a good impression.

Converted R1T Max Pack to Large Pack in May 2022, received the truck end of June 2022. Absolutely love it!

Keeping the Silverado EV reservation, but won't take delivery of the truck. Spoke to the sales manager, and he asked to keep the reservation so that he can have the allocation.

Probably will go through with the EX90 for my wife (to replace her ID.4), unless something else comes along that catches her eye. She doesn't like the looks of the Kia EV9, but I will put a reservation in on one as a backup, just in case. She likes the sketches and concept Hyundai Ioniq 7 but who knows when that will actually be shown or available.

I have made reservations for Ford Lightning, Cybertruck and Chevy Silverado EV.

When my local Ford dealer cal for me to config my truck I couldn’t go through with it because I realized I‘m a Chevy guy and as such I just couldn’t see myself driving a Ford.

I eventually cancelled the Cybertruck because I it got delayed so many times.

So now I’m just waiting for my Silverado.

We own a MY LR already, and I have a Tesla CT, Silverado EV, Sierra EV, and RAM REV 1500 on deposit. Currently driving a 2018 ICE RAM 1500 myself, though I am now considering dumping BEV pickups altogether and going with a smaller BEV CUV or SUV instead. Lots of options entering the EV marketplace to choose from!
