I asked my dealer Harbor Chevrolet in Long Beach CA, and they said they would be selling at "market price". Does anyone know of any dealers in California promising to sell at MSRP?

My interpretation of that is that they will sell at a price the market will bear, i.e. MSRP plus what ever people will pay on top. If the dealer would be selling at MSRP, they would've replied that they'll sell it at that.

Welp, dealer got back to me. $30k markup. Also said anyone who isn’t marking up is lying. I asked for my reservation to be cancelled and payment refunded. Guess this vehicle isn’t in the stars for me… at least not for a while.

just move your reservation. My original dealer said they would be doing a markup so I went to a dealer that said they won't. Plus, report it to chevy. Since other car companies have taken a stance on this like Ford I am guessing chevy will not allow that crap.

@merobinso would a markup be a deal breaker or are you okay with it to some extent if it means getting a Silverado EV sooner?

Anything over MSRP is a deal breaker for me. Dealers are a politically forced third party demanding their cut$$.

This thread will be a very important resource for most of us. I reserved at the closest Chevy dealer to my house. I'm about number 160,000 in line, I'll have a good idea what's going on with pricing by the time my WT arrives.

My reservation is with a dealer close to my home but I already know they intend to extort (ADM) as much as the can get. As I understand it WTs shipped in late 2023 are for fleet sales. WTs for the general public start shipping sometime in 2024. Leaving plenty of time to find another dealer or walk away. Reserved day one hour one.

The current situation is order online exactly what want for the MSRP price quoted only to have the dealer say “ if you want your car you will have to pay me (extortion) $5-10k”. Literally unearned extortion money!! And it’s legal!!!!!!

I am not sure who is worse the dealer or the fool that pays the ADM.
