So GM does worse, the average GM worker is stuck like most wage workers in this country and Mary makes more and more! Hurry up and take my $80k plus $135 a month Mary.
The gap between Mary Barra’s pay and that of a median worker has also increased in relative terms over the half-decade ending in 2022. Back in 2017, Barra’s pay was 295 times higher than that of a median global employee at The General. Today, the Detroit Free Press points out, her compensation has grown to be 362 times higher than the median worker’s pay.
