Thanks for the link, @BahamaTodd. If GM successfully pulls off their unique “everybody in” EV transition, Gerald Johnson deserves much of the credit. He and his manufacturing team have completed whole-plant extreme EV makeovers at Detroit-Hamtramck and CAMI, with another in-progress at Orion, plus major adaptations at Spring Hill and Ramos Arizpe. As well, converting GM ICE casting facilities, etc to EV part and sub-assembly production.

As opposed to a “clean sheet” philosophy many OEMs are using - building new plants in new locations with new staff - this practice is faster, reduces capital cost and retains/repurposes existing experienced GM staff.
