It was funnier when GM literally just hired Bryan Nesbitt to design the PT Cruiser 2.0 (I mean Chevy HHR).

Remember when they all copied each other in the late 70s to early 2000s? Where they made the absolute terrible-trash vehicles they could with poor MPG and reliability? Then they needed bankruptcy restructuring emergency TARP funds to stay afloat* . These folks are all really good at copying each other.


* Note, I know Ford didn't take bail-out money from G W Bush. But I don't care.

Ford actually did... in a way... They took $6B government loan in 2009. They are still paying it off.

Actually the GM bailout was liquidated eventually at a profit for the govt I believe - I think I read that spelled out on Wikipedia IIRC. GM used to be the biggest most profitable company in the world, they just ran into trouble but hey, it spawned the Big Bet on EV’s so can’t complain.
