Do you think with gas going crazy, the Ford F-150 lightning coming out this year, and the overall interest that Chevy might release it earlier than expected and by how much if you think so?

Unfortunately, no. GM is pushing development as fast as they can, they aren't holding back to release. I think the timeline that was given is as good as you can hope for, but there is a very real chance it will slip further into the future.

Yeah I’m seeing maybe push backs but not push forwards unfortunately as well. I’m hoping for a on time release but wondered what others thought.

The best we can hope for is that the overwhelming interest in EV trucks drives up production - but that won’t yield results for years, unfortunately.

I did see where the ev Cadillac they are releasing will be coming out early due to excitement so maybe it will help for a slightly early release for the truck.

Granted, we have to take any information we get right now with a grain of salt. But, I called the Chevy concierge number this morning and talked to a representative there. I specifically asked this question: "I'm on the reservation list, and I want a WT trim. I'm not a fleet customer. Will I be able to actually get a truck in 2023?" She immediately answered, "Yes." She went on to say, "If you're on the reservation list, you'll get a truck in 2023."

I'm OK with waiting a year. I need time to get a 240v outlet wired up in my garage and do some planning anyway. What I'm not OK with is waiting 3 years. If it turns into that I'm going elsewhere. But so far I am still getting positive information. So we'll see...........

Man, I really hope so I’m super excited about this truck but like you need to get the outlet wired up. If it looks like three years or more then I might look at a cybertruck even though it looks weird to me as I know ford isn’t going to be putting out trucks outside their 200,000 order for two more years.

Yeah, knowing my luck I'll actually get to order a truck for '23 but the dealers will start adding $15k markup and I'll still have to pass. Sigh....

I specially called my dealership and asked about any mark ups or fees, they said there was only a $1000 deposit but if I order it then it will be msrp with shipping, tax, and tags obviously. I think a lot of dealerships with gm or afraid of getting reported and losing their ability to sell gm cars. Call your dealership and ask.

Just like with the Ford lightning, there is no reason to buy from a dealer that is trying to gouge you. Just confirm MSRP before placing the order, and if they try to ADM fee you, switch dealers. Ford is very happily accommodating customers who need to do this, and I have no doubt GM will be as well.

Whoa!!! Yeah, a grain or two of salt is needed for that. Sounds interesting, though... Still think it's highly unlikely.

I'm with you on that. I will not pay a single penny of markup. Funny thing is, I sent the Sales Manager at my chosen dealership an email asking about this last week and haven't heard anything back. Maybe I hit a sore spot?:ROFLMAO:

Might need to change the dealership that’s going to handle your order. I agree with you I’m not paying dealership fees.

Same. When I asked about markup, all he said was "we don't know what dealers are going to do yet." I won't pay markup. So we'll see.

Luckily my dealer does not sell any new vehicle above MSRP and said they will not do that with the Silverado either
If you change a dealer, will we be placed last in the new dealer's queue or will it be based on order date/time?

think the only thing that changes is the reservation #. I changed when my original dealer said they would be marking it up and my new dealer said I am really low on their low so I am guessing it is still based on order date/time unless the dealer you switch to have reservations placed before yours
Latest from my dealer:

"Hello Shawn,

I do know that the current year sold out in 1 hour! Current reservation holders are at the front of the line for the 24 model year. I heard production was supposed to start the fall. I will see if there is an update to that and let you know."

What I take from that is if you didn't reserve yours in that first hour, back in January, you won't be getting one next year. Those of us who reserved after that will have to wait until the second year of production.

That's a bummer, but on the bright side the early dealer mark-ups due to it being a "new" thing should be gone by then since the trucks will be everywhere.
I just reserved 2 days ago. I hope I live long enough to get mine!
