I reserved an RST first edition and WT/RST nearly immediately when they became available and I chose the nearest dealer to me. Honestly I didn't know we were going to have to choose a dealer so I didn't want to waste any time.
So, I've gotten a call from them and a couple emails from them saying they don't want to hold on to the Reservation Fees and want to return the deposit.
After looking into the dealership, they charge a markup on nearly every vehicle I looked at so I'm wary of them returning the fee without some nefarious reason...

Has anyone run into this with their dealer? Thoughts?
I already told them once that I didn't need the money returned, but they are contacting me again about it. I'm worried if I let them return the deposit that will be some reason for them to demand a markup by saying technically I canceled my reservation by taking the deposit back but they will help me keep my place in line as long as I agree to pay the markup.
Should I change dealerships?
thanks

I wonder if they are just trying to trick you into cancelling and thinking they will get the allocation regardless if you do. I don't know if that is how it actually works, but I could see some delaers thinking, "well reservation holders can move their truck if I try to charge markup, but if I convince them to cancel then Chevy will still send me the truck and I can sell it to whoever I want for absurd amounts"

The wording in their email is also odd. It says I'm "on the list to be contacted once the Silverado becomes available"... I think I'm going to move my reservations, just seems off especially since I already know they charge markup on everything they can and I would rather support dealers that don't charge markup.
Now I just need to decide if I go with another local dealer that advertises "We never sell above MSRP", or go with one from the list (Donohoo for example is saying they will take $2500 off list price if you move your reservation to them).
