The full list of specs aren't out yet for the Silverado EV but here's what I've found that we should expect from Chevy.

Range: Over 400 miles
Battery: GM's Ultium battery technology
Battery Size: Ultium batteries can range from 50 kWh to 200 kWh
Powertrain: Similar to the Hummer EV (one, two, or three-motor options)
Drivetrain: All-wheel drive

What specs do you want to see the Silverado EV come with?

Silverado electric specs could overlap with the Hummer EV to some extent. But that 400-miles of range figure will likely come from a battery pack over 200 kWh. It's actually what GM has planned for the Hummer. I think something close to 250 kWh would be ideal so it can still be a very capable pickup.

I can't imagine how much a 250 kWh battery would weigh on either the Silverado or Hummer. At some point you wonder how big is too big for a EV battery.

I am hoping that the Silverado electric will have the emergency back up battery option (ala Tesla Power Wall) feature like the F-150 Lightning. That is the best feature about that truck and is super useful. If Chevy can get a 300 mile range Silverado with a power wall like feature for around $50k, it will have a home run! The Lightning offers this with an XLT package for $60k, but nothing less.

It's an interesting feature for sure, but definitely not a deal maker or breaker for me.

So I placed a reservation on the SILVERADO EV FIRST EDITION RST. Now I understand there will be a dual motor set up with 4 wheel steering for a whopping $105k. But I would like to know more about the WT and the regular RST version which they have no information on. No basic comparison chart. Anyone have data that I am not aware of?

This seems to be par for the course on these reservation type deals. I reserved the regular RST or WT, as no matter what the differences in features or delivery, I would not spend that much.

I'm not too shocked. I knew they would try to push that, and of course make the "First Edition" the most expensive. I was really hoping I could get the Trail Boss or something in between the WT and RST in the early orders. If all else fails I will just switch out the stock wheels. Those 24s, or even the 22s aren't for me. The WT has 18s, so an 18 or 20 with the 35" tall tire (same as the 24s, 275/50R24) would be a great setup I think.

I am on board, but I think the range reduction from 35s will break your heart.

I agree. I don't need them, was just saying they would be the same size so they could fit for those that want the big tire look. I think an All-Terrain around a 33-34" height on a 18 or 20 would be the sweet spot for me. Or maybe All-Seasons for general use and save the All-Terrain for off-road and winter. I just like more sidewall than you get with the 22 or 24s.

Aside from all the information that was in the press release and CES presentation I don't see anything else right now. My guess is that GM wants to get as many reservations as they can first before they start releasing more info on each model. Especially since we're about a year away from Silverados arriving at dealers.
