On page 40 of the EPA document they list the test weight at 10,000 lbs. Meaning it included about 1000 lbs of payload. The Hummer should do better than 329 miles empty. We should expect the same for the Silverado.

I forget where it was, but IIRC one of the test drives with an engineer for the Hummer he mentioned that in their testing every 100 pounds of payload - as long as it was within the airflow envelope - only dropped the range by about a mile. So that would only add around 10 miles of range for the 1k payload. I suspect a similar negligable impact is made to the Lightning

Good point. I wonder what year-to-year improvements in range will be like. Ford just squeezed out an extra 17 miles from the Mach-E for 2022 over 2021 models. I hope GM can do the same here.
