Is there an actual price hike or is that just assumptions. I hear people referencing price increase but haven't seen any announcements around it. Someone please link me to an article if one exists. Thank you.

Most people are basing it on the pricing of the 3WT and 4WT, which makes the WT for more then $30k less hard to believe. In addition to rampant inflation and what Ford did. Add on high interest rates and recession, it’s hard to blame people for feeling like it will be unaffordable. Also Mary kinda comes across like a greedy person from what I have read.

Thanks, that's what I'm feeling but wasn't nearly as accurate or eloquent.

Thank you. I agree with everything you said. I just wasn't sure if there was anything official or if it was just speculation based on economic environment. We should know more as pricing for the higher and and lower end come out. I know a lot of people are banking on a $40k truck. I would assume that based on profit per truck built, they are going to focus initially on fleets and higher priced specs. I hope they don't screw with the price of the RST.

I'm not really aware of the Work Truck trims. Is there a 1WT and 2WT trim for ICE Silverados for public purchase or are those just available for fleet purchases?
I know it's super early to speculate on the Poll, since we only have 19 people responding so far, but it's no where near 20%. I wonder where the heck Recurrent Auto got their results from.
I imagine the folks that registered for this forum and responded to your poll are the hardcore enthusiasts who are much more likely to take delivery. There are thousands of people who put a deposit but don’t care enough to register for a forum about the truck. I don’t know about the WT naming scheme either, but we know the battery is the most expensive component. If the 4WT is 400 miles for $80k, 3WT is 300 miles for $72k, 2WT …? 1WT?!?

You want to see the real bait and switch? Try to cancel your reservation and get a refund. I've been trying for almost 2 weeks and I don't think I'm ever seeing my $100 again. There simply isn't anyone that takes responsibility for finding proof of the $100 payment and executing a refund of the $100.

Already filed a claim with the FTC and local attorney general. This type of behavior from GM and the other "dealer-model" OEMs straight up violates 16 C.F.R. Part 702. They need to start facing some penalties/fines for taking people's money and making it impossible to get it back through normal means.

I'm sure people are like "but it's only $100". If you're thinking this... please PM me so I can ask you to give me $100 over Venmo or PayPal.
Yes, I agree one hundred percent. Give me my money back and I'll take a chance of possibly being able to buy one in my lifetime. Or not.

I am in that camp. What is scaring me away is what I am hearing about trailering. The mileage goes way down like around a 100 miles.
You know if you had asked me this same question a couple of months ago I would have said Yes in this poll. Between the pricing for the 3WT/4WT making the $42k unlikely and the CarPlay/Android Auto announcement I am getting more pessimistic on actually taking delivery.

This is very dependent on what you are towing. We also don't know the actual base range of the truck yet. I would wait for more information before you decide to jump ship. I would be shocked if the range was actually only 100 miles when towing, maybe with a high head wind in the middle of winter.

For reference my Rivian R1T gets about 140-150 highway miles with my loaded 24' car trailer (about 8k lbs). The last I towed with it to get those numbers was when it was rated for 314 miles EPA range. There has been an update since then that has some efficiency improvements and allows you to use more of the battery which improved the EPA range to 328. I would expect about 5 miles more when towing, not a lot, but everything is helpful. With the same trailer empty (about 4k lbs) I could get an additional 10 miles range, showing that the aero profile is way more of a factor than weight.

Well thats news for those who may be towing. What about those of us that will haul small items or just everyday driving?
I'm still concerned about the base price. It kind of looks like a bait and switch. You got a lot of reservation deposits and a lot of people that made those deposits are starting to loose interest in the truck.
Then there is the problem of getting your money back!

My understanding is that hauling items on board, so long as they fit behind the cab, and do not overly obstruct the airflow will have very little effect on EV range. For example, our MME has roughly the same range if it is just the driver on board, or if the whole family and all of our crap is inside (probably 700 lb difference). These vehicles are already so heavy, that the weight difference as a percentage of the overall is really not that great.

Back to the original question on the thread, I have reservations for both Silverado and Sierra, and will close on the first one that comes through for sure for myself. The second one, I will either cancel, or talk to the boss about purchasing as a company vehicle to take advantage of the tax credit.
Unless they reverse course on CarPlay, no.
