Here's all the info that GMC shared about the Sierra EV's charging capability.
  • 800V platform
  • 350 kW DC fast charging, 100 miles of range in 10 minutes
  • 19.2 kW AC charging
  • bi-directional charging
  • 10.2 kW off-board power through up to 10 outlets

Additionally, the 2024 Sierra EV Denali Edition 1’s Power Station Pro allows the truck to be used as a mobile power source in multiple situations. With the available Ultium Power Bar accessory, the 2024 Sierra EV offers 10.2kW of off-board power through up to 10 outlets that can help power tools and other accessories on the trail or at a campsite, as needed. When properly equipped, the Sierra EV Denali’s Power Station Pro can even power another EV.

This off-board power capability means that with the right configuration, such as a bi-directional charger and additional products and services offered through GM Energy’s Ultium Home line, the Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 can power a home’s essential necessities, for up to 21 days collectively.

When it comes to charging performance, the 2024 Sierra EV Denali includes a 19.2kW onboard AC charging module for home and public charging. It also features 800V DC Public Fast Charging capability of up to 350kW, enabling approximately 100 miles of range to be added in only 10 minutes.

Owners also have access to Ultium Charge 360, GM’s holistic approach to EV charging, designed to help simplify the overall charging experience, including access to more than 110,000 publicly available charging points in the U.S. and Canada.

Any indication if the bidirectional charging is AC through the J1772 port (how Lucid and Sono are making available), or only DC CCS bidirectional (a la Lightning) ?

Are the 110,000 public charge points a collection of all non Tesla charge points or is it a prediction of how many charge points at GM dealerships?

Currently Blink is taking orders for charing ports at GM dealerships but report they are mostly for the backend of the dealership (service area). Many dealerships have not ordered yet.

FWIW all EVs can charge at all of the non Tesla charge ports.

Ultium Charge 360 is basically a collection of all currently available chargepoints that GM has mapped and or partners with.

Do they all currently exist?

My understanding is that GM will use the standard plug configuration that all other EVs use with the exception of Tesla.

I just read that the first GM dealer had Blink(GM partner) chargers installed yesterday. The vast majority of GM dealers do not yet have EV charging capabilities.

The front facing chargers at GM dealers will also be available to all EVs.

My thinking is that Ultium Charging 360 is initially a marketing spin to ease range anxiety. I do think eventually many GM dealerships will have Front facing chargers for GM and all other EVs as GM sees them as a away to increase traffic. But it will take a few years for it be real

Ford, Rivian, Tesla, Kia, VW and others all use the same marketing lingo. With Tesla as the exception all of them have been very slow in rolling out EV charging stations.

Having been through this with Ford, Kia and Rivian I don’t see 360 as much of a plus for purchasing a GM EV. I do think if/when 360 is built out it will be a good add to the overall charging network.

They all currently exist and are expanding. It isn't all just GM dealerships. All EVGO locations are under Ultium Charge 360.

It's a program that GM is using to map current locations and fund the expansion to new locations.

An older article about it on GM's site:

Any EV charging that GM/Dealers install will not only benefit GM EV customers but ultimately all EV owners. Which is of course a good thing.

The sooner the EV charging network expands the less range will be an issue.
One thing lagging far behind are charging solutions for non-home owners.
